Tried this blind up with another red. Both had identical colours, however the other was a 99 tatachilla cabernet. Amazing.
The Moss Wood showed a classic 93 vintage aroma of green capsicum aromas that were not a highlight of this experience. Palate on the other hand was very good. Great balance despite the poor vintage conditions. Lots of secondary characters appearing. Not a mainstream Aussie style IMO - am I right here? (not that I have much French experience). Very savoury, superb length, tannins not over-bearing. Obviously one of the weakest MWood cabernet vintages but still a vey pleasant surprise.
The Tatachilla was a nice wine but the MW was in a different league. At this tasting, many actually preferred the tatachilla, but these were the type of people that dont drink a lot of premium red. The others with more exposure to premium red preferred the MW.
