Don't shy away if you don't know much/anything about Italian wines. An offline is an awesome way to learn about new wine styles you haven't had exposure to before. If you're worried about where to buy a bottle to bring to the offline, our gracious host Gavin can supply many suitable Italian wines.

P.S. Scopri easily accessible via #96 tram from the CBD. Get off at stop 16 (Kay St) which is just outside the restaurant.

I do hope someone manages to slip in a Nero di Troia or at least a Castel del Monte (where it's often the lead). A very fine grape IMO.

As per Ozzie's list, I am out for this one! Will be enjoying a few Singhas in Bkk.

Cannot wait guys..... now to find an 'N' Italian grape/wine.

There's a nice incentive to those that haven't tried an off-line before - a member will be arriving without pants.

And that's the beginning of the evening mind you, then we'll drink some wine.

Im really sorry about this. My wife had booked a secret week away and didnt confess till now (she saw my wine dinner entry on
the calendar).
Even worse is I had already sourced the bottles I was going to bring and was really looking forward too this night (I dont have a lot of experience with Italian grapes, so was especially keen)

Any Vic's (or interstaters in Melb on the 7th) thinking of putting their hand up, please just do it. It is a wonderful evening, full of laughs and friendly banter. Everyone shares their knowledge and experience and its a truly memorable evening. You will not be disappointed, I promise you.

Please put up your hand if you're interested. Would love to see some new faces. Even if you've never had an Italian wine before, there is no reason to be shy. Offlines are the best way to learn about new styles of wine you don't have experience with.

We have two more places to fill. If we don't fill our places very soon, we'll need to relinquish the private dining room upstairs at Scopri and sit downstairs instead.

Been trawling through CellarTracker to decide what to bring. Discovered that 17.6% of my cellar is an Italian wine with a grape variety starting with N.

Will also be bringing along an extra curio which is on theme.

Not a chance. To be fair to Scopri I have let a big group go upstairs and moved us to near the bar where we have successfully been before. So current numbers locked in now.

Nope. Vlad will be interstate on 7 July.

Apologies, but work has been extended in Italy, so I shall be here drinking wines beginning with N here instead of Scopri, which saddens me as the Scopri nights are always so damn good - apologies Ozzie.

Grape variety starting with N AND from Italy.

However, saying that, if anyone is struggling to find a wine, then bring a non-Italian wine from a grape variety starting with N.

Really wish this was in Sydney!
