Hi All,
I've 2 bottles of this wine.I've never seen any notes on this.I know it's a favourite of Robert Parker but how does this wine go down in Australia ?
Cheers
Enzo...
'98 Greenock Creek Roennfeld Rd Shiraz
Enzo, I tried this late last year after picking afew up at cellar door. This is a big wine that shows its 16% alcohol. It sold out very quickly the day the CD opened. My TN from the night we tried it, alog with Grange, Hill of Grace, Armagh:
Inky black monster, and on the nose, its bitter chocolate, black cherries, and has a BIG alcoholic lift. In the mouth, its alcohol. More alcohol. Almost offputtingly alcoholic. There were some rich red cherries in there too, along with some black fruits, on a huge, jammy porty palate. Not my style.
I didnt like it much, but the gent sitting next to me liked it enough to offer me a bottle of 98 Grange for in exchange my other two bottles!
cheers
Andrew

Oops, i tihnk I've misled, they werent all 98's. it was the "Night of Shite"

For me WOTN was the 96 grange. Many picked the 90 Hill of Grace, some (I think) ranked the Roennfeldt Road.
We're unlikely to do a lineup like that again!
cheers
