Purchased last November. First look at it since tasting at the winery

Straw / yellow in colour. Vibrant nose with pear, lemon, nectarine, apple and well, just fruit - over a layer of savoury oak that doesn't intrude, but supports. Racy acidity on the palate supports the balance of fruit and oak, and there's a lot of zing and life to this wine, without being harsh or tart.

I'm intending to put the remainder away for a couple of years - I suggest this wine will build complexity over time and become even more interesting than it is now.

Cheers
Allan

Allan, '15 was a spectacular vintage on the Peninsula, as was '16.

Just be careful with Kooyongs wines,as the abundance of Mercaptin (burnt rubber) has been an issue for a number of years. It is evident in the '15 Pinots.

However, as from wines from the mid '2000's the vineyards can produce spectacular fruit!

Thanks Rory. As it turns out, the Pinots I bought were 2014s. Is Mercaptin a problem for these ? I didn't percieve it in the wines as I tasted them (and I am susceptible to this). Why do they suffer this wine fault?

Cheers
