Would love to hear of any Jeanneret wine tasting experiences from the Clare Valley, SA. To me, its the best winery in Australia and the cellar door experience just fantastic, especially if Dickie is working!!! Every single wine blows me away with its depth and power and the Hummer Merlot & the Stand & Deliver Shiraz are my all time favourite wines. Dickie's tasting pours are as big as most restaurant wine by the glass pours and when most of the tasting list has 15% alcohol or more then a great time is gauranteed. Does not get the recognition it deserves, just a faboulous unpretentious winery delivering in spades. If your ever in Clare its a MUST.

I have been there recently. Agreed, Dickie's pours are 'generous', shame you have to tip most of it out though, otherwise you'll end up totally hammered as there are quite a few wines on the list to try.
The only wine I have enjoyed and bought is the Big Fine Girl Riesling. For me the red wines are far too big,over extracted and alcoholic. The Hummer was too much for me.
To be honest - the cellar door is pokey and small , if there are more than four or five people in there it's basically overcrowded. I think it's far from the best cellar door and winery, particularly when you have the likes of Tim Adams, Jim Barry, Paulett's, O'Leary Walker, Pikes, Kilikanoon, Taylors and so on the in the same region. Then when Grosset is open, not sure it's even in the same league as Grosset. At the same time, it's off the beaten track a bit, nostalgic and if you like big red wines it's worth a look.
They've received a grant to invest in the cellar door to upgrade it, will be interesting to see how they spend it.

For me i love the big wines that they make. You mentioned Grosset and i agree, not in the same league completely different and price wise too! I love the charm of the pokey old world cellar door and not a fan of the big budget commercial cellar doors. I recommend it to any visitors as i feel it is best in tune with the area which is bacially rural SA farm country which happen to grow amazing grapes.Personalities like Dickie just add another layer too.
