TN: Gilberts Riesling 2016

G'day
I've become somewhat of a fan of this small Great Southern producer over recent years, primarily for their Riesling and shiraz (both varieties that the Great Southern broadly does well).
Straw in colour, and clear and bright. The nose is intense, but not in a sharp or overpowering way, and has the usual lime / lemon in abundance. There's some florals also, and some talc / minerality.
The palate has cleansing acid, but again, not in a sharp or intrusive way, but certainly enough to support the primary fruit flavours. There's a delicacy that I was not expecting in an Australian riesling - it's not under-powered at all, but there's some balance and 'dancing on the palate' rather than flooding it.
It will be interesting to see how this ages. Previous vintages are going nicely.
Cheers
