TN: Olivers Taranga Shiraz 2015

Post by Waiters Friend »

The new release. I've become fan of this wine, following a visit to OT in August 2016. On that visit, the 2013 was tasted (and bought) and I have subsequently found 2010, 2012, and 2014 (all resting peacefully in the cellar) and the 2015 has arrived in the past week.

Deep purple in colour. Not quite glass-staining, but dense. A flavourful nose of blue and black fruits, vanilla, red and black plums. A very satisfying medium-weight palate, with fresh dark fruits flooding over the tongue, and good tannic grip in support. There's a touch of mocha, but only a little, adding a little velvet to the mouthfeel.

Given how well the 2010 is drinking now, I reckon this could be as good in a few years' time.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
