TN: 2015 Coates The Rosé

Post by n4sir »

2015 Coates The Rosé, Robe & Adelaide Hills (screwcap): 13% alc. Pinot Noir from Robe & Kuitpo, barrel fermented and matured in seasoned French oak for 9 months. Pale salmon with a tinge of brown onion skin colour. Musky and complex with touches of rose petals, lemon zest, white chocolate, mushroom and boiled lollies, a little black liquorice with breathing. While it’s savoury it also has a surprisingly sweet mid-palate before finishing dry and grippy; at times it resembles something from Provence, but lacks the overall elegance in comparison.
