My Greatest Wine Ever !

The 1939 was a very bad year vintage in Piedmont. Last night, we expected the 1927 to outperform all, but the 1939 was mine and a number of other vintage drinkers' greatest wine ever!
Truly Amazing. In time, I will right up an extraordinary vertical of Cappellano. I am just not sure if I'll settle into a write up or Fox Footy channel tonight, with a leftover Cappellano Rupestris en magnum 2010.

Beautiful. Hopefully one day I'll touch similar delights. My greatest was a combination of the "moment" and the wine itself. I worked at an institution for 9years, quit and shouted 3 colleagues an expensive lunch at an exclusive restaurant. We had a bottle of Chave and it wowed me... but it was the Domaine du Pegau (sadly can't remember the vintage) Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée that took my head off.. and it was nowhere near the other bottles i bought that day in price terms. That moment of being carefree on 'gardening leave' with good people and fine wine was unforgettable.

I may need to revisit Chave - maybe I was not ready for such a great wine (didn't appreciate it). Rayas - yet to try. Sounds like I need to make an appointment with one of these one day soon.

Mr Binder opened one for me once and he cried as it looked flat
Bottle variation in life hurts

Michel,
I have some of the 2005 Pegau of which I have tried one bottle - bloody nice drop. Any idea how long it will last? I purchased it as a birth year wine when my son was born.
