TN: 2015 Giant Steps Chardonnay

Post by n4sir »

2015 Giant Steps Chardonnay, Yarra Valley (screwcap): 13.5% alc. Very pale straw/green. Lovely blalance of ripe, juicy citrus/grapefruit and attractive, spicy/subtley smoky oak on both the nose and palate right from the first whiff, a little apple, lanolin and melon appearing with breathing. The acidity is bright but also well integrated on the mid-palate, which has lovely length and a soft, lingering finish. This is a great textbook example of a modern Australian chardonnay style, up there with Adelaide Hills and Margaret River, and keenly priced under $30.
