2006 Winter Creek Shiraz, Barossa Valley (screwcap): 14% alc. Very dark red/purple. Still going strong, raspberries and black liquorice, camphor and tea chest, star anise, black pepper, ash, peppermint and leaf with breathing. The palate’s medium to full-weight, spicy and sweet with blueberries, raspberries and graphite, with soft, expansive but fine tannins and an elegant, minerally long finish. Pure juicy shiraz with the oak well in the background, so damn easy to drink, yet if left alone it will last decades. Just brilliant.
Cheers,
Ian
