2006 Kabminye White Frontignac, Barossa Valley (screwcap): 13.0% alc. Deep, brassy gold colour. Sweet, spicy nose still with lychees freshness, now matched with bluegum honey, banana cake, touches of mineral turpentine and rose petals; the palate’s well balanced with an explosive, sweet mid-palate and crisp, clean acidity on the long finish preventing it from being cloying. I wish I had another bottle as an options wine, there is a lot here that is more like a Mosel riesling or Alsace gewurztraminer than a humble Barossa fronti’. Still a perfect match for Asian, this time with Chicken Bengali curry.
