2008 Hoddles Creek 1er Cru Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley (screwcap): 13.2% alc. Light red/garnet. Still bright and herbal, cherries and fresh sage and a touch of white pepper, more meaty/mushroom characters with breathing; the palate’s drinking well with equally bright cherries and acidity with a little honeyed ham, finishing slender and fine with fine, grippy tannins. Drinking well now but should also reward holding for a few more years.
