TN: 2015 Rosemount Meat Matcher Shiraz

Post by n4sir »

2015 Rosemount Meat Matcher Shiraz, South Eastern Australia (screwcap): 13% alc. Dark to very dark purple. Sweet nose full of blackberry, earth and black liquorice, a little bried herb in the background; the palate's just over medium-weight, juicy and tarry with the same earthy/black liquorice characters and velvety/meaty tannins. Great length for a quaffer, with a touch of minty warmth mid-palate that continues to the end. Despite its name, I think this is a great pasta and Mexican food wine, although a good bbq would not be a bad match either.
