G'day

This Margaret River producer has been around for about 40 years, and I have been a regular buyer for well over a decade. I have vintages of this wine going back to 2004, and they uniformly age well. However, I thought it was a good idea to have a look at the current vintage, as a few more will arrive in my cellar next week along with a larger quantity of their excellent (and new release) Chardonnay.

This is a powerful wine from an excellent vintage. Purple black in colour. Cedary oak sits on top of rich blackcurrant, with a little eucalypt. The palate is where the action is, with a strong line of acid and fine grained tannins supporting a tasty blend of red and dark fruits.

Way too young now, but from experience, this will settle down into a very satisfying wine indeed. Give it another 5.

Cheers
Allan
