Agreed, so good I'm going to be really pedantic, the cork is mucking me about. Not sure if it is the angle or perspective is wrong and it 'looks' blurry. Other than that very cool, how you've done the the glass is epic with it's reflections the whole chiaroscuro thing happening on it. Also love the detail on the corkscrew.

That glass looks like a photo. Incredible, I'm so jealous of people like you with artistic talent like that.

Yeah cork is messing with my eye focus, but mainly because my eye is fooled into thinking it's a photo so it's like "why would the cork be out of focus so close to the other in-focus items" Maybe the DOF is just that good.... :-)

Nice work Rob. My only complaint (and I wouldn't make one, it's amazing, but just for constructive criticism) is that it looks too real!

Cheers
Tim

Thank you for your positive comments and compliments. Interesting comments about the cork. It may be because I was only sent the empty bottle. I did call inquiring about a cork. One reason was to see if the corks back then were printed or not. I didn't want an old cork regardless because as you know they expand and distort. I did use a fresh cork for reference and perhaps it may have been too short if anything. Personally, I don't see a problem with the cork however, I am of course very close to the painting now and probably lack any critical process with regard to it.

Thank you for your comment, I will bare it in mind for my next wine art painting.

Regards

Thank you TiggerK. It really is an interesting pair of comments about the cork. My wife always has a say in whether a painting is complete and never mentioned it.

This painting had it's fair share of problems. The shape of the bottle must have changed at least five times. I know that sounds incredibly daft ... a bottle is a bottle right. However, when painting it on a horizontal surface, I was getting perspective issues ie smaller at the top than the bottom. Weird as it is, I changed the bottom by narrowing the base slightly. Then to counter other issues I ended up expanding both the top and the bottom and that seemed to solve the problem. I think the other issue comes from the bottle itself not being perfect and it was slightly oval which I would have thought would have been the comment/complaint most of you would have noticed.

Thank you for saying it looks too real. Hopefully that's something I can keep up and improve on.

Regards

That's fantastic
I looked at the picture before reading the comment above it and thought I was looking at a photo, and that you did the graphics for the label.
Truley amazing, I keep looking at it in disbelief it's not a photo, and a really well taken photo too!

I've had a couple of quick peeks tonight and like btb I thought it was a photo, until I read the later posts. Bloody well done. Cork might be a minor issue, but in the scheme of things, don't think so.

Fooled me - I saw this yesterday morning and thought it was someone showing off that they had drunk a very rare bottle of Shiraz...very well done.

Talent. Very good. I was confused at first. I thought it was a photo and just confused by your post. I really like the reflections. That is very realistic.
