Just thinking about a room where we can store all our lovely wine in 'perfect' conditions. None of our above-ground rooms really fit the bill, as we don't keep the house sealed and temperature controlled. Under the house seems to be pretty good (16-19 degrees since the start of summer, little variation, humidity around the 75% mark). But, there's only about 60cm of space between 'floor' and 'ceiling' and the foundations may not brook a lot of digging out. And then we found the PZ 6, which seems to be almost perfect. It will fit in the over-sized garage, has it's own conditioning unit, storage for well over the 930 bottles indicated (if you keep them in cases) and is under $10,000 installed. And I'm fairly sure it would add the value back to the house when we sold.
Has any one had any experience with these sort of add-on rooms? We're not in a hurry, as I can always store the wine under the house for a year. But I'm keen if anyone has seen or used something like this.
