TN: 1996 A Pernin-Rossin Morey Saint Denis

1996 Domaine Pernin-Rossin Morey Saint Denis (cork): 13% alc. Medium garnet/brick. Smoky, meaty and minty nose, cassis and strawberry jam, smoky bacon, soy and a little barnyard and coffee; the palate’s long and velvety, strawberries, black tea, tar and liquorice, superb balance and length. Like his 1er Cru wines from Vosne-Romanee and Nuits St Georges, this has much more in common with Bordeaux than any Australian Pinot I have tried; considering it has barely moved the last six years, on this form I suggest good bottles have many years of enjoyment left.
