1993 Domaine Louis Latour Aloxe-Corton

Bit of a tribute wine to my good mate Shannon who has moved to the US to take on a global role with Dell.

Dark red in colour, the cork was in perfect nick and a real job to get out as it was so tight. (half bottle). Dark fruits on the nose and a touch of bramble, it is so soft on the palate it is almost creamy. I am swirling it around in my mouth to extract all the flavour (blackcurrant, spices, blueberry, herbs), it is not a big in your face wine, more elegant and understated. Nice bit of structure still there, but mostly integrated and no doubt adding to the soft, fleshy feel. As I am sitting on it, it is really opening up in the glass, giving up more and more.

A lovely example of a well aged 23y.o Burgundy.
