Devils Lair Cabernet Merlot 2001

I've had a magnum of this sitting around for a while now, and last night (daughter's birthday) seemed a good enough reason to crack it.
Good colour - ruby, no bricking. Decanted 15 minutes or so before service, and took anothe 15 to open up. Lots of blackcurrant, plum and cassis, a little cigar box and some dusty characters. Palate has firm but fine drying tannins, and dried blackberries and a little oregano. Medium to long finish, and satisfying.
This was either going to be a pretty good wine, or a dud. Fortunately, it was the former.
Cheers
