Saturday drinks...

Post by cuttlefish »

The following:
Fresh Coffin Bay oysters, 3 doz.
Mount View Estate Reserve Semillon 2006
Subtle opening, leafy citrus, medium length, great weight. Universally liked.
Freycinet Riesling 2004
Plenty of spritz. Fresh for its age. Creamy and delicious. Touch spicy.
Redman Claret 1990
Good bottle. Dry with enough fruit left to carry it. Drinking nicely.
Willespie Old School Cab 1999
Bigger red. Touch earthy and touch bretty. I didn't find this too distracting but others did. Sour leafy black currant at times but drank well for me.
Mount View Estate Sensational Botrytis Semillon 2007
Just enough acid vibrancy left to make this enjoyable. Quite clean and suited the dessert well (some sort of cream/strawberry sponge cake)
Smack my [insert grape type here] up !
