Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Merlot 2001

The Gimblett Gravels one.
Dense Red.
Spicy chocolatey nose, with some lifted plum.
The palate confirms the hint from the nose, this is well oaked. Dark Chocolate and plum, developing into blackberry, and the choc turns to coffe grounds and vanilla after a while. The tannins are slightly green, and fairly fine, but theres heaps of them.
If you like them woody you'll like this. Love the fruit profile, but I prefer a bit less oak. Very good, almost excellent.
cheers
