Hi All,

I'm trying to track down a bottle Black Tower - Smooth red (any year) as a gift, but I can't seem to find any in Australia. Does anyone know any international web sites that would ship internationally?

I would appreciate any help.

I searched.. it still exists and you can buy it in the UK. They now have a full range of "low carb, low alcohol" versions at 5% abv as well... about £5/bottle, so might fit a Secret Santa gift limit? The ideal Christmas present that says "I don't like you, have some cheap wine".

I thought I was very sophisticated when I brought a bottle of Black Tower riesling to dinner parties in the early 1980's. Times have moved on....

Any red wine with Smooth in the name is sure to to taste like crap leaving you wondering where your five bucks went.

Nah, no comparison... Brandivino was for getting pissed. Black Tower was for sophisticated types and hot dates.

The Blue Nun was my go to wine for my late teens hot dates, also thought was being rather highbrow and sophisticated at the time.....

My type of girl Moira, but no, Rheingold Spumante (sic) was for getting pissed or if you were a young lady it generally was exactly that...getting spewed

This thread brings back memories. Do they still make Green Ginger Wine? My parents in the late 60s/early 70s used to mix it with soda water and pass it off to party guests as a sophisticated mix of scotch and dry ginger ale. Guests seemed to like it and usually got hammered. It was so glugable.

Yep they still make Stones Green Ginger Wine. Angove's have even made a sparkling version mixing Stones with a white sparkling wine.

and Crabbies ginger wine as well.

They certainly do still make Stones Green Ginger wine. I always have a bottle on hand when I head to Fraser Island in June each year. Nothing better than a swig between beers when you're waist deep in water beach fishing. Warms up the tummy.
