Interesting screwcap mould

Post by dave vino »

Opened a Wendouree Muscat of Alexandria 2008. I wonder what would happen if it can get over the lip into the wine. This is one of the new Guava closures. Wine seems fine.

Wine Fridge is not overly humid about 60%

Looks like one spot is just hitting the top lip, not sure it will get in...

Very Interesting. I would say , somehow the neck of the bottle and/or the cap was contaminated before even the wine went in there. Oldest screw cap I opened is from 2002 and many others, I mean 10+ year old and never seen anything like this.

Any chance it has been in an esky or taken out of the fridge on a humid day?
