TNs: Mount Mary Triolets

<b>1994 Mount Mary Triolet</b>
Medium yellow. Zesty nose reminiscent of freshly cut grapefruit and lemons. Beginning to become complex. Next day went all spirity and lost fruit freshness. Palate is lime fragrant aromas with grassy herbaceousness. Big acid finish and bone dry and puckering. 12.5% A/V seems overly dominant. Good but not excelling length. Full body and palate. Seems a tad anaemic fruit-wise. Not really my style.

Also tasted at a restaurant were my oldest and youngest (recent release) Triolets for comparison but no in depth notes taken:
<b>1991 Triolet</b> – as above but passing its prime and unexciting.
<b>Good 16.0 / 20</b>

<b>2002 Triolet</b> – Where’s the fruit? Just an acid bomb that is all over the place. Almost impossible to drink now. A major disappointment in its youth and I don’t see much upside.
<b>Good 16.5 / 20</b>

<b>Conclusion?</b>
In my opinion, the Mount Mary Triolet is nothing special for a classic dry white style and way over-priced for what it is. Both in their youth and with 5-10 years age they remain merely good. IÂ’ve stopped buying the Mount Mary Pinot and this now joins it. My credit card will be thanking me in November.

So this leaves you in the same situation as the rest of us: cabernets & chardonnay - which are the styles he does best anyway, and accords with my preferences unless someone is going to produce great Burgundy....

Thanks for ur notes. I've better experince with a bt. of Leeuwin Prelude Classic White :oops:
