Raises hand!
I'm away for the first half of Jan, so would only be able to come on or after the 16th.

I would love to attend one of these. For the first time in my life, I've found I have too much good wine and not enough people to share it with.

Keen to do any day/night exclusive of those dates though.
Anyone still up for it?

Was thinking of going to Syracuse in the CBD but they're not too open about the idea of us bringing in a heap of bottles
Any other suggestions?
I may also be a +1, could be a big group! Great to see.

I think we might need to maintain a go to list of restaurants that are happy to cater for byo and have good glassware.

Venues used to date:
Carlton - Moreton's Brasserie - French bistro style - great people there, food a tad heavy. Good winter choice.
CBD - The Moat - excellent food, glasses, service
Brunswick East - I Carusi - great pizza, awful stemware
Recent discovery:
Brunswick East - Mankoushe - excellent food, average stemware.

I love mankoushe and it would is almost walking distance for me. Plus it is on a tram line for others.

Hi all, apologies for the radio silence. Let me check with my better half, but I think there is a good chance I will make it. Should be OK, as long as I don't arrive home worse for wear with a copy of the next day's newspaper in hand and a red rose my buttonhole, like last time...
Regarding locations, I'm happy to give anything a bash. However (and not for this occasion) I was chatting to the guys in the Hotel Lincoln (Carlton) as they have a lovely large square table which would be perfect for this sort of event. Seat 8 or 12 no problems. I asked about BYO, and they said they would do us a menu to match the wines. Started to sound like it could get expensive, but on the other hand the stemware is generally excellent!
Oh, is there a theme BTW, just in case I need to go and source a Lithuanian orange wine, or something?

I've been told L'Altro Mondo is quite good in Port Melbourne.
They have a 4-Course set menu for $65 a head. Only thing is byo is $10 a bottle.

Moreton's was really good the last time we went, as was Paris Go the time before that.
Sounds like the 30th is the popular option at this stage?

Love to give the Hotel Lincoln a go, and seems like numbers are building to make it worth the effort for the venue too.
And yes, I reckon 30th is the date that seems to go down best.

Hey guys , just spoke to someone from Syracuse and they have offered $100 a head for 6-7 course and we can bring our own wine.
Really relaxed venue, great food, great glassware and very focused on wine (couple of the waiters are somms).
I can book for the 30th if everyone wants to go ahead?
