1982 de Bricout Elegance Champagne
Stunning medium yellow showing its age. Nose is still fresh with some toastiness and yeast. The palate is medium bodied. Yes, in excellent shape for a 22-year-old champers, with good length and drinking well BUT not overly complex or exciting. In fact, slightly one-dimensional and not very complex or nuanced (despite its age) but nonetheless still pretty good. DonÂ’t know too much about this house and didnÂ’t expect much despite the flamboyant packaging and nifty gift box so I was pleasantly surprised.
Very Good 17.0 / 20
1982 Chateau La Lagune
Light red with lovely luminosity. Classic Bordeaux nose with hints of smoke, berries, cherries and sweet dark chocolate. Excellent. Palate is medium bodied with lovely balance. A degree of complexity fills out the flavour spectrum. Quite sensual mouth feel. Good length but finishes a tad shorter than comparable 82 Bordeauxs I have recently drunk, plus loses some grip despite the nice tannin follow through.
Very Good 17.5 / 20
