Really sad news. He was a top writer and I read his notes religiously.

...a genuine sadness. He put me onto a number of really different and now favourite wines - the Peter Lauer gear springs to mind.

Vale Jeremy Pringle.

There were no writers like Jeremy.

He cut his own path, fierce and passionate, never afraid of an argument or a controversy, clearly a hard taskmaster on his own efforts.

I've been revisiting his work tonight with a terrible sadness. If you haven't read him, just google his name, and sit back and share his joy, and his laser of truth in terroir. He was one of the first writers who I put in my list nearly 10 years ago, and when he posted "Hiatus" last week, I expected it was another change in direction. But not this.

Go well Jeremy, I know you'll have some tough questions for the various keepers of the gates.

You'll be missed as long as people down here have memories.

Simon Killen.

What a sad 24 hours, I was absolutely gutted to hear of Robin Williams passing, now this too. There may be no more tears in heaven, but there are plenty here tonight.

I met Jeremy once, and I think he came to one of our offlines, but I wasn't at that one.

He seemed like a nice bloke. Passionate about his wine, and literature. I read a couple of books he and Mattinson were discussing once, but I can't remember what they were.

Life is precious.

Cheers

Michael
