Charles Melton Barossa Valley Shiraz 1998
Alc 14,5 %
Color: Dark red with a little brik red on the edge
Nose: A little red fruits, but most is oak and a bit of spices
Mouth:Dominated oak wood, a small body with a 1 second finish
This wine is at the end of life, no drinking fun....
Regards

I am surprised by this as I've had the '98 Melton 'Rose of Virginia' at 10 years of age this rosé was still good. It's hard to believe that their red from the same vintage is stuffed. Was it bought at auction or maybe poorly stored?

My experience with Charlies shiraz is that they dont age very well. Better to drink up earlier then later.

Hmm, I've got about a half-dozen of these stashed away somewhere. Looks like I'll have to get drinking.

The 1 second finish doesn't sound promising!

the wine was for 10 year in my cellar, so i think that´s not the problem, but maybe in future we have more tastingnotes, right Brucer

Mahmoud,
I am surprised for a man of your good taste that you have any of this in the cellar. I have tried it once and found it damn near undrinkable. I found it overly sweet and clumsy. I just struggle with Aussie roses. I was given another last week with the same reaction.
