Hello All,
I was just wondering if anyone is aware of any locations where I am able to buy a couple of bottles of the 2010 Penfolds St Henri? I have checked on Gavin's site, and the big chain stores, however it appears they are all sold out of their allocation.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for checking, but no TWE wines on my site.
If anyone knows, feel free to post away!

I'm pretty sure (or so I was told by a DM customer service guy) a lot of DM stores will be receiving another shipment shortly. Whether the <$70 price will hold up?

Oh the Ed cellars ...nothings changed with their exorbitant pricing...2010 St Henri is a gouging crisp green note.
May even be cheaper at Pennies CD at Magill...but common sense tells me RRP of $100+ is what you will be charged by TWE.
Will wait for the next delivery at the chains...anyway after langtons 6th last week there are 20 wines ahead that are on the buy list.
cheers
Craig

Thanks all for the advice, and thanks Gavin for allowing the post. I ended up using the link from Diddy and have purchased some of them. I am in Sydney, and hopefully in a couple of years will be sharing a bottle or two of it with you all at a offline tasting.
Diddy by the time I purchased some there were 12 left (now 6). I was hoping to grab some at the chain price of sub $70 but no such luck! St Henri is the only Penfolds wine I try and keep a continual vertical of, so I'm glad I was able to grab some. Thanks again.

Glad to hear you were able to get a few bottles Pat!
Not that I'm suggesting this is necessarily the case here, but hypothetically, if there was a lot more stock of St Henri available than what we've been led to believe thus far, it would make for some interesting analysis under the Australian Consumer Law.
Specifically, provisions such as:-
33 Misleading conduct as to the nature etc. of goods
A person must not, in trade or commerce, engage in conduct that is liable to mislead the public as to the nature, the manufacturing process, the characteristics, the suitability for their purpose or the quantity of any goods.
-or-
35 Bait advertising
(1) A person must not, in trade or commerce, advertise goods or services for supply at a specified price if:
(a) there are reasonable grounds for believing that the person will not be able to offer for supply those goods or services at that price for a period that is, and in quantities that are, reasonable, having regard to:
(i) the nature of the market in which the person carries on business; and
(ii) the nature of the advertisement; and
(b) the person is aware or ought reasonably to be aware of those grounds.
Note: A pecuniary penalty may be imposed for a contravention of this subsection.
(2) A person who, in trade or commerce, advertises goods or services for supply at a specified price must offer such goods or services for supply at that price for a period that is, and in quantities that are, reasonable having regard to:
(a) the nature of the market in which the person carries on business; and
(b) the nature of the advertisement.
Note: A pecuniary penalty may be imposed for a contravention of this subsection.

Penfolds Cellar Door had already sold a huge amount of St. Henri at $95/bottle when I was there last Sunday - there were empty boxes stacked from floor to ceiling!
They were down to their very last 6 or so bottles sealed under screwcap - they have much more available bottled under cork if anyone is willing to take the plunge.
Cheers,
Ian

Just out of curiosity Gavin, what did you do with them?
I distinctively remember coming across bottles of Grange and JR of varying vintages.

Man, Kemenys had a good offer but SOLD OUT already same as Dan's etc... this must have been a tiny allocation initially to ramp up the HYPE machine... Cant decide if I want to buy some or not though I think tempted at sub-$70

My local DM had sold out Saturday when I went to visit but the fine wine manager told me they were getting more on Monday so I rang and had 4 bottles put aside. Might be more there if anyone is looking for a Brisbane supply - Rens you know where I mean.
Didn't realise these still sometimes wore cork, but checked mine and they are screwies. Whew!
Cheers

Cork are for the offshore markets where screwcap is still looked down on. I don't think there are any cork closures that are destined for Aussie markets.

Where did you get them from? Were you aware you were buying cork and not screwcap?

At a price I suspect that will be much better than what I can realise through the chains. Have finally got a few bottles now.
Amuses me now what 100 points does and on May 1 2015 for the 60th release when all those on the gravy train will be going ga ga for another 2010, hell Gago may even be in town for that one ...
2011 St Henri will be $50 (at Harrods).
I appreciate but don't agree with the market forces game...
DMs belt the living suitcases out of the initial offering
TWE then dry up stock and then if DMs play nice and respectfully increase the pb price a few dollars and then a few dollars more, on top of the original first offer price...
Then TWE might give them a bit more and so it goes and everyone is happy.
The cynic in me thinks that DMs have a shitload of stock and they too are happy to be involved with the drip feed practices.
Will be in touch with my third party TWE contact to see what they have been "offered" to think about maybe another 6.
Cheers Craig.

RIGHT!!!!
I am really miffed now.
Having received a call from a local shop to advise that they have 3 x 2010 StH available for me I sent the good lady wife down to pick them up. I am currently away. The said shop had sold out of 2010 and were awaiting further supply that arrived today. The wife picked up 3 x 2009 and 3 x 2010. The ONLY reason I was prepared to buy these was that they are screwcap closure! This was confirmed to me by the guys who said he would hold 3 when they came in!
To my disgust when the wife took a photo of them the 3 x 2010 are cork closure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2009 under Stelvin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will be returned as soon as I get home. This is really dodgy stuff and stuff that makes me further turn off Penfolds and the hit and miss games they play!
Not happy!
Sipper/Chris

I'm more than happy with cork, as long as it's stored properly its as good as screw cap...most the best wines in the world are still cork

I have not been buying any Penfolds for the last 10 years. After reading all the above posts about 2010 StH, I decided to look around my local DM and was surprised to see boxes of 2010 StH (about 10 boxes). Ended up buying one wooden box of 6 at $72.90 per bottle.
Cheers Alan

Has DM's exhausted their possible supply? Just completed a search on their website, 2010 not even mentioned (despite earlier heralding their 100 point wine) 2009 & earlier available but no 2010. This has occurred in the last 12 hours, as it has been previously listed, but not available. Should have bought more rather than my precious little 1 bottle. Perhaps despite the previous noise about Penfolds prices, it could have been listed around $100 mark (supply & demand, and tasting especially compared to RWT & Wynns Michael) however Bin 28, 128, 407 need a decrease in pricing.

Same problem here in SA, none stocked at DMs anywhere...will call in person.
Pleased I got a few, I would have liked a few more.
Can see the flickers sending plenty to auction in the coming months
