Red Wine and Health

Hi
I've read a few articles now that suggest drinking red wine staves off common colds and bugs. Anyway, I'm starting to think this is indeed true as we have a 2 year old who from time to time picks up all sorts of nasties from daycare etc. Interestingly, the last 4 times he has been sick my wife has come down with the same thing and I have escape unharmed. Im starting to think its the red I drink. My wife rarely drinks at all and we both share equal time with our son.

hmmm, thumbs up for red!

:D

For a minute there, I thought you were going to say your 2 year old drinks red wine from time to time

Glad you're keeping in full health

Nothing more healthy I reckon than going down into the cellar and pulling one or two faves that you have had the eye on for a while or that are unexpected finds (the only time dementia is a bonus).
Great for your mental health and great for your physical health as the first sips of that Clare Riesling, Hunter semi or French bubbles dances across the palate.

Cheers Craig.

Someone had to say it, but... correlation doesn't equal causation!

Still, it does seem likely that drinking wine in moderation is good for you. Especially red wine, luckily.

We worry about fat, we worry about pollution, we worry about cholesterol, but in reality what's worst of all for your health is stress.

Nice glass of wine, good food in good company and a few laughs? It's a causation no-brainer.

Cheers!
Tim

Everything in moderation, including moderation.

Did anyone see the segment on 60 Minutes a few weeks agoabout the Greek Island of Ikaria where people live on average 10 years longer than the rest of western societies?

Amongst other things, their red wine consumption was cited as a possible explanation.

Pfft - I wish that had worked for me - I got really sick in both years the kids started childcare. Unless of course it was sharing the red wine with the better half that led to my downfall

I've only had one day off sick this year from work. The sample set of 1 puts it at confidence level of 100% that drinking lots of Red wine is good for your health. :D

Red would be the healthiest strategy to use. Their which could support build a good immune system vision as well as storage, in conjunction with using up much more calories from fat as well as cutting down body size.
