Deep crimson. The nose is chock full of concentrated raspberry & blueberry essence, lashings of sweet new oak combined with a good, but slight VA lift helping the wines complexity with black pepper, vanilla & liquorice hints following. The palate is full-bodied & richly textured with plum, blueberry/blackberry & ripe raspberry following through with some spice & coffee. The tannins are rounded but there is little in the way of cutting acidity with the finish being clean & sweet but lacking in any serious punch. Not the most inspiring Armagh IÂ’ve ever had but a nice enough wine although itÂ’s certainly not worth searching out for. 14.0%vol
