This is a recent auction purchase. I wasn't sure whether these would be past it, or in decline. I could not have been more wrong.
Pale yellow colour (much lighter than the Howard Park of the same year). The nose is initially a little closed, with some lemon and nectarine. It opens up a little with moderate cedary oak and peach. On the palate, the flavours become more prominent along with a nutty character and clean acidity. A very long finish - I could taste the wine for ages.
I'm not sure this tasting note is doing it justice. This is a superb wine, and maybe it is more about the balance and the tautness of the wine. It is definitely more than the sum of the parts described in the previous paragraph.
I have a couple more bottles. Happy days!
