A very good wine, and if cellared well, no rush to consume.

Wow. Mong, those 2010 Leflaives are bucket list wines.
Are you planning on checking in on their youth or gambling on them seeing maturity unscathed?

Hi All
For some time I have been trying to locate some Vasse Felix 2005 Shiraz to no avail. It may be a longshot however, If anyone can point me in the direction of some I would be very grateful.
PM is fine as Im not wanting to cross promote any retailers.
Cheers

6 x 2010 Freeman's nebbiolo from Hilltops region - second buy, LOVE this wine
1 x 2006 Henschke Mt Edelstone - mis-priced by local supermarket. Part of me feels bad, most of me is stoked.
6 x 2012 Tim Smith Mataro/Grenache/Shiraz - one day I'll get tired of this wickedly tasty blend, but that day seems a long, long way off......

Thanks Monghead. At the end of the day, Barossa shiraz from 86, 91, 90 and 96 (in that order) will always be my first true love..... Sadly though, the supply of the 86s are dwindling, and I didn't buy as many 96's as I'd like as their release coincided with a property purchase. As such, I'll live vicariously through your consumption of 96s !

I think you might be pushing things a bit with the 97 H. I drank a lot of these wines, the last of the 96 about 2 years ago, and it was at the end. The 97 H cab was good.

I tried the 2013 this week and it was superb. I suspect I will try and track down some of the 2012 to add to the cellar based on the performance of the 2103 this week

12 x Maximin Grunhaus Herrenberg Spatlese 2007,
12 x Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Spatlese 2007,

24 x Grosset Springvale riesling 2012 (ditto and if I am wrong well heck I will just have to drink them all.)

Bought from auction recently I too thought they may be a bit tired Brucer but took a gamble as they were from a cellar of known providence. First one was OK but 2nd was really singing. 3rd will be a lottery as are all older wines under cork. At $14 it was worth the chance. Haselgrove also put out an H Reserve shiraz in the 90's which were stunners. Picked up a double magnum of the '96 a loooong time ago and it was magic.
