bit unforthcoming immediately on opening - but after 40 minutes or so, just marvellous, subtle varietal cabernet nuances, substantial complexity, a gamey character quite unusual for any cabernet (which I very much liked) - a toe-curling wine. Next day - the gamey character has blown off - not big, not overtly rich or overipe, the cassis not in your face, everything in balance, great length, sheer class. At its peak - can see why this vintage gets outlandish prices at auction, has to be close to 1st growths in quality.
