widely used grape in Spanish sherries, I've never seen it before as a single varietal - a 500 ml cleanskin from my local wine shop, Fletchers, a fortified, 21%. Powerful, intense rancio/almond nougat/durian characters, quite sweet, with an underlay of something close to varnish or furniture polish (not meant pejoratively). Burnished copper in colour with a finish that lasts for well over a minute - like a Rutherglen classic/grand tokay gone feral.
