For the past couple of years I've been going to Kingsleys place, over in Takapuna, for Showcase.
Half the cost ($15), same crew from TM present the wines, and usually an on the night price
reduction for purchases. Then there's on street, no cost parking. All of which suits me.
Pays to get there reasonably early if you want a seat. Large crowd (120+ last year) rolls up at this venue every year.

yeah there are a few retail outlets that do similar gigs which look good. I park at the wifes work so no issue there and a beer, bite to eat at the viaduct. Its a good night so I don't mind the price tag but yes there are plenty of other launch gigs you can grab.
i probably aren't going to buy any this year but still keen to taste. The 91 Coleraine thing was a drawcard too.

Hmm..... 91 ??
I need to re-read the blurb sheet. I had it as the 2001 comparison vintage.
Opened one in the last few months, thought it pretty good, cool vintage, somewhat akin to '96.

Official Showcase has 2011,2001,1991 Coleraine
The retailer ones have no 1991 Coleraine, but some appear to have other vintages of Awatea/ Elston

Unfortunately neither of the official ones work for me - will be in Akld on the 6th, when they're in Wgtn, and in Wgtn on the 7th, when the Akld event is on, so am going to Caros. A pity as I'd have liked to see the '91.
Cheers
