<b>1982 Chateau Montrose</b>
Light brown meniscus, iridescent rich purple hues. Bouquet of lovely perfumed and sweet black fruits and classic cedar. Harmonious and balanced on the palate. Classic Bordeaux. Everything just right. Reminds me of a plush and sensual Richard James of Savile Row hand-made woven silk tie. A little less concentrated than expected. Medium-bodied. Good but not great length. Second day (after 3 hours extra air): lovely tannin integration, which completes the wine. Fully mature and I cannot see it improving further given there is little primary fruit left, as the wine is more savoury and secondary. Like all fine wines, will surely hold. I have had this wine on many occasions since release (when it drunk really well too) and it has been very consistent in quality.

I have not tried this wine myself but your description of it sounds excellent. It is what Bordeaux is all about - sheer drinking bliss , now that we are moving into cooler weather I'm looking forward to getting into some of these great drinking wines.

I have always found this a little too mature recently, it seems not to have aged as well as you might expect.
