Re: Celebrities and wine
I read 'why the french hate us' by Campbell Mattinson. There's a story in there about a phone bidder at an auction buying a $64,000 8 litre bottle of Penfolds Grange. The buyer happened to be Maynard James Keenan, the lead singer from the band Tool. He also featured on the old 'wine week' shows talking about his winery Caduceus Cellars. It would seem he is far from trying to 'brand' himself though. It's quite obvious he has a passion for wine and for wine making regardless of fame.
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Absolutely no. Your taste are totally different with them. They may have been wines you enjoy which they aren't. Same thing goes with not patronizing or drinking a wine just because it has a celebrity name on it.
