Galway Pipe Tawny Port

Can anyone tell me who makes "Galway Pipe Tawny Port" these days? I had always thought it was Yalumba (the label image looks like Yalumba to me) and the label of the wine we drink is identical to that on CellarTracker where it is called Yalumba Galway Pipe but the back label of the bottle in my hand with the same front label as on CellarTracker says that its bottled by Mildara Wines (Vic). Plus the Yalumba website does not list "Galway Pipe". I'm starting to get very confused. Is this something to do with the exported bottles or what? We need more of this stuff and it would be nice to visit the source to get it.

Yalumba sold it some time ago to Fosters/TWE. TWE are still making it but it is distributed by some other company (VOK) now - see http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/business/ ... 6321960331

A reason not to buy it perhaps? At least McWilliams Hanwood is a family-owned, reliable label. On that note, Mr Pickwicks could have been downgraded since the last time I tried it 20+ years ago.

Under the Mildara label the once great GP has been dumbed down to a just very average commercial tawny. Under the Yalumba label it was a vastly superior wine and if you can get a hold of any of the old bottlings (different shaped bottles, more like a normal wine bottle) from the 60's and 70's you will see what a quality product it was. It used to come up regularly at auction however it's been noticably absent for a while. I've been slowly accumulating a stash for years. :D

Sale of the label to Mildara happened over 10 years ago.
