I was on the Tahbilk site last night and discovered I have to buy at least a half dozen at once. Since that leaves three bottles, I was wondering what their whites are like?

The only one I have had is the Marsanne and it is a bargain. Great with 5 to 8 years in the cellar.

The marsanne is the flagship (at around $15 a bottle!). I'd also buy the roussanne, and, to a lesser extent, the viognier.

Yeah if you're unfamiliar with their marsanne, get yourself some to keep 5-8 years as mentioned. It's a beautiful wine with some bottle age. A bargain.

I have enjoyed on numerous occasions their 2011 Riesling and Viognier. While its not the greatest expression of the varieties, for the price they are a good
summer quaffer.

The Marsanne is an Excellent wine and has a great history of cellaring.

The Marsannes (both usual bottling and the 1927 vines) are excellent and would be my top picks followed by the Rousanne and Riesling.

The roussanne is just about my favourite Tahbilk white, glad to see you've enjoyed it too Allan. Haven't bought much from Tahbilk for a while but the viognier is another that can be interesting. Perhaps my second favourite is the riesling because it's varietal and drinks well early but in some vinatges can age 8+ years.

It certainly is a bargain but never mind 5-8 years in the cellar, in a good vintage try 15+. I had the '92 a couple of years ago and it was glorious.

The Roussane is great with 5 years or so on it.

The Marsanne is a 10+ year wine. I had a 2000 vintage of their 1927 Vines Marsanne at a restaurant on the weekend and it was fantastic, though still as pale as a 3 year old wine.
