Well the Rockfords Stonewaller mailer arrived yesterday.
Basket Press $57 /bottle
Black Shiraz $58
Slight increases but not to bad.
Time to damage the credit card again!

You beat me to it. And also the Noon mailer on the same day. So much joy............so much pain(credit card). No reserve Cab or Shiraz for this year, only Eclipse and a one off full throttle straight shiraz called M2M (minut to midnight) hence the reference to late picking.

Will you be able to list the prices of the Noon wines? I am not on the list, but as work dictates I will be in Adelaide the weekend the cellar door opens. I will be making my maiden visit to the winery.

I received my Rockford mailer today as well. Interestingly, Rockford made so much of the 2010 Basket Press they will be releasing it over 2 years, meaning '' that every Basket Press from now on will be released with one year's bottle age'' that all the Shiraz went to their Basket Press.

2011 M2M @$24 max 6 one off blend Midnight to Midnight: Shiraz from Petagna family co-fermented with 35% Noon Grenache. Drew says not refined and elegant but more rustic and dense, a very full bodied red with plenty of tannin.

Noticed in the rag, the black magnum golf day winner was Ian TIckle and partner......with a score of 64!

The '03 Basket Press has been on the shelf at an Edmonton store for the last few years. It sells for C$65 yet it doesn't seem to move. Meanwhile the Grower's Semillon and Moppa Springs vintages have moved on. I once tried to get a friend to buy the Basket Press instead of the Eileen Hardy Shiraz (Constellation boycott) at C$80 but without success. I know that if I was spending that kind of money I'd opt for the Rockford.

Thanks Michael. It's a great couple of days and any golfer who is a Stonewaller, should try and get there. Robert puts on a great spread and it is one tournament I'll try not to miss in the future. The prizes are amazing as well. We received a dozen museum wines and a Black Shiraz Magnum for winning. We also won a magnum of Basket Press and a Magnum of Home Block Cabernet (my favourite Rockford wine) for winning the best score. We also got a couple of dozen Moppa Springs and Semillon's as well.

The best thing about the day to me though, is the spirit in which it is played. Everyone is so friendly. At the presentation dinner, we received a lot of congratulations and sparked up some good friendships. We had had a big day on the Friday and were a little under the weather once presentation time came around (thanks Barry from Gomersal!). I even bumped into a mate I hadn't seen in almost 20 years! I'm really looking forward to playing again next year and hopefully defending the trophy. But that is the thing for me, it doesn't really matter if you win or not, it's all about the day and having a wonderful time. I had just as good a time 2 years ago when we played like *%^$#.

Oh, and I look forward to receiving my wines from the mailer this year. I always buy plenty of the Rifle Range Cabernet, and that won't change this year. They were raving about it last year so I'm looking forward to trying it.

Does Rockford ever disclose the source of grapes that goes into their wines. Such as where in Barossa Valley or the ages of the vines?
