Hello Forum,

Well, another month has begun and with it some new releases at the Swedish monopol, one of them being Heysen 2001 Shiraz. I have never tried the Heysen, but I have tried the Hanish (or was it Hanisch?) and I loved that wine. I was now wondering of anyone of you guys on this forum has tried the Heysen 2001 (or any other vintage).

The price here in Sweden would be around AUD 50.00.

Hope for some info/notes.

Kind regards,

Anders

Anders,
twice I have tried Heysen in big line ups,Hanisch was also there, and have loved it. Probably a little more genteel than Hanisch which is also excellent. A very well made wine you can drink now or cellar for several years. $50 is a good price.

High quality wine in the mould of Hanisch. If you've enjoyed Hanisch in the past I don't think you'll be disappointedand and at $50 it's a bargain.

Agreed, had both on the same evening, the Hanisch was better, but not by much, lovely wine.

It needs decanting and time to show its best, and will cellar very well.

Thank you to Muscat Mike, Gavin Trott, 707 (Steve) and Michael for your your replies. Sounds like I better go down to the monopole during lunh and get me a few bottles of the Heysen 2001. I look forward to taste it and I will post my thoughts on the wine, when I have opened a bottle.

Tonight, I will try a bottle Kaesler Stonehorse Shiraz 2002 together with a rich caserole.

Kind regards,

Anders
