Kelly marque and Commodore..?

Apparently there is 100 cases of Kelly Marque going for around $9 a bottle in Sydney, going out of business or something. A friend looking for a cheap quaffer asked me for an opinion but I haven't heard of the wine (...one can only drink so much in one lifetime!). Any idea if it is any good or if so white or red?
