A pleasant drop with enormous flavours and a thorough finish. Probably one of the better vintages I've tasted so far.
Competes with Krug's top-end range very strongly.

I've had it a few times and found it hard going - very tight and acidic (that said, the 96 Salon is even harder to enjoy now IMO). The rest are slumbering in my Australian cellar for the next 15 years. At a similar age the 1990 was more 'open for business' so to speak - its a champagne I really enjoy.

Cheers

Mike

I have to agree-I had bottle open over two days on release and it was undrinkable -20 year wine i reckon. Tried 96 salon at restaurant II last year and it was more approachable but still too young.

Yes,

Found the Krug extremely hard work, but loved the Salon...
