I liked this wine when I first tried it as it had quite a confectionary profile. Lately, I have been steering away from that sort of style in favour of more savoury characteristics (although I still enjoy the confectionary stye alot).
Had this last night with pasta, veal and garlic bread.
A nice mouth feel and weight. Cherrys, liqueur plums and chocolate leads into quite a nice long finish with a pleasant dose of warming alcohol. This wine seems to have changed in the last few years and has lost the confectionary coating and integrated nicely into a silky round texture that I enjoyed very much.
Rats !! Just looked into my inventory and noticed I only have one bottle left (note to self; let more wines age and stop drinking them all in their first year !!), has anyone tried the later releases ? Any tasting notes ?
