Did try it a couple of weeks back. Thought it a bit cooked from the 2008 heatwave. What did you think?

Can't remember the vintage of O'Leary Walker I've tried but it was bloody nice, sounds as if the 08 is too

Haven't tried either as yet, just purchased some to stick away on reputation. Maybe give the Wallace some time.

Did happen to try the Forest Hill Great Southern Cab 2007 last week which is certainly worth getting if you can. Managed to stick 3 bottles of that away. Can't find anymore 07 but there is some 06 locally which is apparently ok also.

A quiet start to the month:

12 x Rosemount 2007 Show Reserve Traditional. A cabernet blend with the name taken from the old Rycroft (McLaren Vale) winery bought by Rosemount many years ago.
6 x Rosemount 2008 Show Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet. A welcome return to form for this wine after years of underdelivering.
1 x 2004 Reschke Bos Coonawarra Cabernet
2 x Yalumba Galway Pipe Tawny Port (old bottling)

Weekend totally off running, back into it next week!

2008 Julicher Pinot Noir. Never fails to impress, this $35 wine always has and continues to drink like a $70 Pinot Noir. Fantastic balance between fruit and structure, super creamy texture and deep set black fruit.

2009 Doctors Riesling. just plain yum, lights up every taste bud. exhlerating

A nice few days up in the Hunter resulted in a few purchases (in between golf games).

Day 1 included a trip to De Iuliis, Tyrrells, Tintilla Estate, Brokenwood and the Small winemakers centre.

Really loved the 2008 Indigo Shiraz from Brokenwood, but decided (mrs dk'd) against.

That's good to hear daz. I grabbed a bottle last week whilst browsing out of interest, will note to try over next couple of weeks.
