The results for the recently completed judging of the Brisbane show are available on line.
Great news that a Riesling takes out the top wine.

Yes, sometimes there are looks of amazement when the identity of a winning wine is revealed. However, having been involved in stewarding for many years, it is a very honest show and the right results 'on the day' come out.

Depends on your definition of big names - Fosters look to have done extremely well across the board, although they also seem to have a massive number of entries in comparison to Constellation & Pernod Ricard. Majella & Thorn Clarke have done very well again from a limited presence.
I thought there were some interesting Judges' comments about some of the vintages attached to the bottom of the classes: raves about the quality and diversity of riesling in 2009, generally very good comments about the 2009 reds and some damning ones about 2007 & 2008.
I seem to have a thing for Stodart Trophy winners, so I will have to keep an eye out to see if that Barwang Top Tier is available somewhere locally...
Cheers,
Ian

Good to see Thorn-Clarke's third ranking Sandpiper range continuing to box above its weight and Brookland Valley's second ranking Verse 1 getting a gong. Warren Buffet, a value investor, would be proud and a buyer.
