Anyone know where I can buy some decent age worthy Barolo's online or in Melbourne?
I fell in love with them on a trip to the US and would love to buy some to put away

Are there any specialist importers or stores that sell it

many thanks

In melbourne i'd be looking at the prince wine store, or Europa Cellars in East Melbourne

Also Rathdown Cellars might be able to sort you out

If you've got a bulging wallet, (which you need for an unhealthy Barolo obsession) I'd try the Prince first personally.

It's a little dodgy to be suggesting options on Gavin's site (he is a retailer, and our host), but I would suggest talking to Anthony d'Anna at Boccaccio Cellars in Melbourne. You can trawl their listings of barolo, barbaresco etc online. Anthony is recently back from Italy, and on that trip was also sourcing back-vintage nebbiolo wines for stocking at reasonable prices, which may also be of interest to you.

Thanks for the help. I'll pop into the prince next time I'm in Melbourne

I thought it would be OK to ask on here because I didnt see any Barolo available on this site

I'm also uneasy about suggesting a competitor on Gavin's site, however I haven't seen to many Barolos in Gavin's list.

Anthony D'Anna at Boccaccio would be a good place to start.

While I share Wizz's reservations and don't wish any discourtesy to Gavin, I would also suggest an e-mail to Anthony would be a good way to go.

I reckon Enoteca Sileno up in Carlton probably has the best selection in Australia. In addition to selling at retail, they also import a prodigious selection. Sadly I haven't managed to get there since they opened a wine bar but for anyone who lives in Melb and feels like exploring Italian wines, I would very interested in your feedback.
