Hi,

Here are three wines I tasted on the weekend.

Keasler Old Vine Shiraz 2001

Dark, purple. HUGE, youthful, sweet black fruit (blackberries and blackberry jam), obvious oak and a hint of mint and chocolate on the nose. BIG, “hot” and flavoursome with the same blackberries and chocolate coming through on the palate together with coffee and nuts. Leave it for another 5 years, otherwise decant it for 1 – 2 hours.

Lorcher Bodenthal-Steinberg Riesling Auslese 1990

Light yellow. Developed nose with minerals, kerosene, honey and citrus. Developed and very harmonious with the same flavours (minerals, kerosene, honey and citrus) showing on the palate. Absolutely wonderful. Drink now and just enjoy.

Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2003

Light yellowish. Youthful, undeveloped, fruity nose with citrus, asparagus, green apple and peach. Dry, young and fresh with grapefruit, peach and green apple. Lovely wine and it will be even better in 5 – 8 years.

Kind regards,

Anders

Anders,

How did you find the 2003 compared with the 2002 ?

Hi markg,

Left Australia before 2002 was released and this is the first time I've seen Grosset's Riesling being sold at the Swedish monopole, so sorry, haven't tried the 2002. I understand that the 2002 was very, VERY good?

Regards,

Anders
